My Favourite Purchase this Summer

I want to tell you about what i consider to be my best buy for this summer, this has saved me loads of money.

Buying a water butt for use in the garden is a great economical way to water the garden.  You can collect rain water from lean to greenhouses, houses and garage roofs.  As we get so much rain in this country you can easily fill up the water butt.  Rain water is the best water to use for watering your plants as the water is soft.

Also they are very convenient to use as you do not need to carry the water from the house.  So not only will your water bills be reduced but your plants will be happier and healthier as well.  Plants in lean to greenhouses will really appreciate rain water as they are not exposed to any rain.

Sell Gold for Cash – Earn Money selling your unwanted Gold

We’ve all seen the TV adverts from those companies wanting to buy your Gold, so I decided to do a bit of research and sell off some of my unwanted gold, I mean some of the jewellery I hardly ever wear and thought I’d be better off selling the stuff as I need the money now when times are tough.

So I looked over a load of websites and reviews and decided to try one out. This one website was offering a free gold sellers pack so I thought I’d  give it a go. Once I’d received my gold pack, it looked very professional and so I decided to try it out. I popped a few gold necklaces that I had brought from Dubai in the envelope, took it to the post office and made sure I had sent it as recorded delivery. Within 24 hours I had an offer I couldn’t refuse and then had the cash in my account within a couple of days. I couldn’t have been more pleased. I was able to treat my children to some new toys and also pay off some debt.

If you are looking to sell gold for cash then I’d recommend giving it a go, but make sure you send it recorded delivery and read plenty of reviews as there are some companies out there that will take your money and run.

Being at One with Yourself on the Beach

It was Karl Marx who made the idea of alienation famous. He felt that industrialized society that forced workers to do monotonous and dehumanizing labor was detrimental to our mental health. The idea of the conveyor belt meant that we did the same job over and over again until we felt mentally run down and out of sorts. This feeling is at odds with the natural buoyancy and joy humans should naturally feel – their true nature. Work that took us away from this state was thus alienating.

I feel this sometimes. The best cure, for me anyway, is to get away from it all and lie on a tropical beach. My favorite spot is Coral Cove Bay on Koh Samui. It is a small beach on the Thai island of Koh Samui. The beach is tucked between the two big resort areas of Chaweng and Lamai. Most people miss the place when they are riding between the two big beaches.

Coral Cove Bay has fine white sand and rocks at either end. It also has a few corals at the mouth of the bay that are great for snorkeling. On the beach there is a great Thai restaurant that serves cheap food and cold beers. In the hills near the beach are a few low key but stylish resorts.

I love lying in the sea and staring at the clouds floating in the sky. I lose myself in the natural beauty of the scenery for sometimes an hour at a time. Then I go find a masseuse and have a Thai massage.

In the evening I take a long bath and go out and have a leisurely dinner under the stars. I’m normally in bed and asleep by 10pm. I sleep perfectly and wake up refreshed. It is this routine that really brings me back to myself, my true self. A week of this routine I am at one with myself and with the world. It’s just a shame I have to go back home and to work!

Choosing The Right Travel Trailer

I have recently been considering the purchase of an RV, and have discovered there is a lot to consider! An in-depth examination of each RV type is needed in order to give you an idea of what life will be like on board the various types of travel trailers for sale.

Still, you can summarize the RV life into this statement – it is a compact, condensed version of living life at home. All the usual everyday daily routines are still available in a typical RV set-up: watching TV, listening to music, lounging about in chairs or couches, even household tasks like cooking and preparing food or cleaning the bathroom. The difference is of course, a change of scenery, a major cutback on space and most of all, you are constantly moving if you are in the RV setting.

In the past, RV life was limited only for the toughest people as the venture was more associated with spontaneous road trip to the wilderness and untapped places. There is no thing as a ’luxury RV unit’ in the past, but now as more and more people are getting interested with RVing as an occasional hobby, many RV manufacturers have come up with a huge selection of RV units that are well spruced up in terms of features and functions. So now, anyone can get a recreational vehicle without having to fear about the possible inconveniences or dangers on the road ahead – personally, I find this most reassuring!

The thing is life in modern RV units is now so comfortable that it’s more or less at par with the life at home (on some points, even better!). As for safety measures, recently released RV units have many more security features. Besides, it’s not hard to ask for help these days with communication available via satellite or cell phones even in extremely remote places. Roadside assistance is then just around the corner when you need it.

Prospective buyers – like me – of RVs need to weigh a lot of considerations before they finally put down the cash for the vehicle. If you are a potential buyer, then take into account the market costs, specifications and the onboard features of your chosen RV unit type.

As for myself, I will be out looking for good travel trailers for sale down here in Texas at the earliest opportunity!

Wine and Your Life

There are very few, if any other foods which can help you catalogue your life in the way that wine does.  I guess you could say that a Twinkie can, since the shelf life is like 40 years (similar to the 1st growth Bordeaux) but really, do you want to share the Twinkie with friends and family after all that time?

Giving wine gifts is a way to help show someone that you not only care, but that you know that the two of you are meant to be friends over the long term.  If you aren’t going to be friends for a really, really long time then why give a bottle of wine which really doesn’t reach its best state for at least 25 years?

I Bought My Cat A Lovely Treat Today!

I was at the pet store last week and I bought my beautiful pet cat a wonderful gift – some litter box furniture! It really has made a massive difference to her toilet habits.  Let me explain why.  I live in a second floor apartment building so my cat is an indoor cat.  She has always been this way as I have had her since she was a kitten and she doesn’t seem to mind.  She loves sitting perched on a high branch of her cat tree, looking out of the window watching the world go by.  Recently though, she seems to have been not using her litter tray when needing to do her toilet business so I come back home to find little ‘presents’ on the carpet.

I have checked her litter tray and it is clean and tidy so for a long while I just couldn’t work out what the problem was.  After reading around the subject I realised that she needed her litter tray to be in a quiet and private place so that it was somewhere she wanted to go to.  Before the problem started to happen, the litter tray always used to be half underneath the bed in the spare room but during a visit of a friend I moved the litter tray out of there and into the corner of the kitchen, totally in full view of everyone and everything.  It seems that this was enough for my little cat to get itchy feet about using her litter tray and that is where all the problems started.

That is when I realised that I needed to buy some sort of cover for the litter pan but I wanted it to look good and be able to fit in my main living room due to a serious lack of space in my apartment.  Litter box furniture was the answer because it looked like all my other furniture and doubled up as a nice end table, great for a nice pot plant and a lamp!  For those worried about nasty smells, don’t be.  The litter box furniture that I bought doesn’t let out any odours and is really easy to clean.  It is definitely one of my best buys of the year so far and my cat adores it – no more nasty accidents to be discovered when I get home from work which is great!

Best topical wrinkle filler

Not too long after I turned 40, I started noticing more lines on my face in places where there had previously been none. When I was younger, I always thought that I wanted to be one of those ‘grow old gracefully’ women but seeing these wrinkles made me want to change that position. However, I have never been keen on plastic surgery and the thought of getting injections in my face to stop the wrinkles was also something not very appealing to me. After a little research, I came across the idea of topical wrinkle fillers.

What Are Topical Wrinkle Fillers?

Topical wrinkle fillers are different from other products designed to get rid of wrinkles because they are actually applied topically to your face. Usually, the wrinkle filler is a gel or a cream. These products are generally a little lighter than a traditional cream or moisturizer. The way that a topical wrinkle filler works is that it works to fill in and plump the cracks that make up the wrinkles. This is because the product contains silicone and pigments that both fill and color the wrinkle cracks. The good thing about the inclusion of the pigments is that they actually work to get rid of the shadow created by the wrinkle, which causes light to bounce away and make the wrinkle less visible. As you can see, topical wrinkle fillers are very temporary, which means that you need to actually reapply the product each day. While that might be a disadvantage, the big advantage to this product is that you can use it practically anywhere that you have wrinkles. I have actually tried out a few different brands and discovered that the best topical wrinkle fillers have anti-aging benefits included in the product composition. In fact, I have found two products that work the best for me.

L’Oreal Paris Collagen Filler Wrinkle Treatment

One of the regular topical wrinkle fillers that I use is the L’Oreal Paris Collagen Filler Wrinkle Treatment. It comes in a 1-fluid ounce container, which is not a lot. However, I can usually find it for just under $10, which makes the price not too terrible. One of the things that I like about this particular product is that it has anti-aging properties, however you need to apply it to your entire face for the best anti-aging results. This also makes it to my list of top 10 best wrinkle filler 2012.

Neutrogena Ageless Intensives Anti-wrinkle Deep Wrinkle Filler

Another topical wrinkle filler that I sometimes use is the Neutrogena Ageless Intensives Anti-wrinkle Deep Wrinkle Filler. This one is also in a 1-fluid ounce container, but it generally has a higher price. Usually my local drugstore sells it for around $15. Personally, I prefer this over the L’Oreal wrinkle filler, but the slightly higher price often prevents me from getting it. Both work well and offer similar advantages, but I notice that my pores clog less with this wrinkle filler.

We should all be One

We should all be one, but in reality we are not. Maybe in philosophical and religious terms we are indeed all equal: we all die; we are all subject to the laws of nature or the will of God. We all share a common humanity despite differences of gender and skin color. Sadly, these superficial differences do have a real impact on our lives. One such difference is the inequality caused by the uneven distribution of money. I’m not going to debate the wrongs or rights of distributive taxes or even of revolution. Rather I’m going to write about how money effectively denies us equal access to beautiful places in the world.

I’ve traveled extensively in the developing world. Mostly I can go anywhere because the public transport, accommodation and food is cheap. Obviously, some places like the Angel Falls in Venezuela, the Okavango Delta in Botswana and Easter Island are expensive to get to or to stay in because of limitations in infrastructure. What I complain about is when hotels move into an area and buy up all the best real estate thus driving out the local businesses and making an area the exclusive reserve of the rich. In Thailand after the tsunami of 2004 many small businesses were bought up along the Andaman coast and turned into expensive resorts.

There was no tsunami damage in the Gulf of Thailand but still many beaches in this area are becoming rich enclaves. One example is Thong Nai Pan Noi on Koh Phangan. It now costs between $200 and $1,000 a night for 90% of the accommodation on the beach. All the hotels in Thong Nai Pan Noi are owned by outside interests.

The only solution to staying cheaply in Thong Nai Pan Noi is to rent a villa. Sunrise Villa in Thong Nai Pan Noi is now available for rent for $166 a night. Sunrise Villa has 3 double bedrooms which means per person the cost is only $27 a night. The villa comes with air-con, hot water, huge lounge and balcony as well as fully equipped kitchen. It is good to see that somebody is trying to keep access open to one of Thailand’s best beaches.

How to Find the Best Security Jobs

Security jobs are currently in demand. Ever since the attack of the Word Trade Center in 2001, security has become a heightened concern for nearly every industry in the country. People have become more worried about their safety. A lot of them are willing to pay good money just to guarantee their protection.

If you are in search of a security job, you should visit bestsecurityjobs.org and view the job offers they have.  Security jobs such as security guards, transportation security officers, police officer trainees, campus law enforcers, CIA agents, patrollers, fraud investigators, industrial security specialists, sheriffs, and loss prevention managers among other positions are available.

You should realize that even though there is no particular educational requirement for security jobs, you would still need to be licensed to carry weapons. You should also be in good physical condition as well as know how to defend yourself and others when the situation calls for it. In addition, you should be able to work on your own, with a partner, and as part of a team.

To be able to apply for a security job, you should attend job fairs and look for ads on the Internet and in newspapers. You may ask for referrals if there are any. Speak with hiring representatives and send in your resume. See to it that you provide accurate information in your resume. In addition, your resume should be properly adapted to suit the position that you are applying for.

For instance, if you are applying for a supervisor position, you should edit your resume and make sure that you highlight your strengths that would be useful for that area. Likewise, if you are applying as a monitor technician, you should put technical skills in your resume that would increase your chances of getting hired.

Jobs that aim to protect people and guarantee their safety are dangerous yet noble. So, if you want to be of service to your fellowmen, you should get a job that would be beneficial to everyone. Once you become qualified for one of the security jobs available, you can start serving people and becoming an asset to society.

Understanding your Mortgage Payments

For many homeowners, the monthly mortgage payment is the largest household recurring expense.  Surprisingly, it’s also one of the least understood of all the budget charges.  An amortization schedule is a great way for homeowners to see how their monthly mortgage payment gets broken down between loan principal, interest, taxes, insurance and other mortgage related fees.  Understanding how your mortgage payment is broken down is key to developing a healthy overall budget – especially for households where it’s difficult to meet all fiscal obligations.

For obvious reasons, understanding where your mortgage payments go and what exactly they pay for is of the utmost importance for a sound household budget.  Fortunately, there are many tools such as the one above on the internet that help us with all our many financial obstacles and obligations.

My Adventure in Traffic Court

Not only is it embarrassing enough to have to be in traffic accident claims court but I had to cause myself even more humiliation! There I was waiting in line for my hearing to start. I was nervous. After all, this was my first time in front of a judge!

Apparently, my nerves had gotten the best of me. I do not know why exactly, since my ticket was for nothing serious and I was assured the judge would waive the ticket.  Never the less, I began to work myself up. I had started to shake semi-gently with a nervous twitch.

All still seemed to be ok, until I noticed my nervous twitch. I started to try to over compensate and move the rest of my body a bit. I was trying to make it less obvious. However, instead of people paying less attention they paid more. Before I could stop my twitching the whole court was stopped and the judge looked at me asking if I was ok as the guard announced I was having a seizure. How embarrassing!

Craft Spells Idle Labor

I’d like to take the time here to mention an album that probably did not receive much attention last year. It was my personal favorite of 2011. Not because it was extremely inventive. Not because it gave my world whiplash. And not because a great or crazy pop star created it. It was because the songs were written well and might have been the catchiest songs of the year. It was Craft Spells’ debut album on the label Captured Tracks, Idle Labor.

The style this band plays in brings one back to the days of the late Joy Division and early New Order material, before they became much more dance music-influenced. Songs like After the Moment,Your Tomb, and Party Talk are great slices of pop music, but done with a slight filthy edge to them. It sounds like an old cassette tape you found in your parents’ collection.

You play it and hear the lo-fi charm that comes with this brand of new wave pop sounds. If you’re looking for something catchy but not completely clear, charming and romantic but muddled, give this album a listen. You’ll regret having passed it over.
